Who or what stands behind this name.
Dreams of Reality actually started off as a small hobby breed for Persian cats.
We then accidently became owners of a Main Coon cat, and although the race is totally different to Persians. We decided to also start a Maine
Coon breed. If you have looked into our Persian Webside ( about us ), you know that life never works out as you would wish, as you will see in our case.
One of our Persian cats had to have a siserian to give birth to her kittens. It greeves me to say that two of the three kittens were dead at
birth, and the third one was just alive, but only weighed a few ounces ( which is not really enough for a new born, healthy Persian kitten ). The kitten was too weak to feed on her
mother breast, and we knew we had to do something quickly, otherwise we would loose her as well. We phoned a friend of ours, whose Main Coon had given birth to eight kittens the day
before. We asked him if he would lend us two of his kittens to feed on our mothers breast to get her milk flowing ( to help our kitten, who was too weak to do so ). He agreed to help us,
so we drove the 50 miles to his house, and picked up two of his kittens. We took the two smallest out of his litter, because Main Coon are a lot larger than Persians. At home we layed
his two kittens to our Persian mother, and they started to feed. The first hurdle was taken.
After a week, our kitten died, although we had fed her simultaniously to the mother. It was not to be. We phoned our friend and told him the bad
news. He then told us that his Main Coon mother didn`t have enough milk for all her kittens, and if our Persian mother could carry on feeding his two. We of course agreed to his plea,
and our Persian mother fed and brought up his two kittens as her own. When the time came for our friend to pick up his two ( orphans ), we had long fell in love with one, and decided to
keep her. We named her Shaitan`s B`Elanna Torres.
That was the story of how we came to breed Main Coon.
